Quote

The course of our lives is seldom determined by great, life-altering decisions. Out direction is often set by the small day-to-day choices that chart the track on which we run. This is the substance of our lives. –Gordon B Hinckley

Think Happy

Being unhappy, in a bad mood, or just down and depressed is a horrible way to live life. Sometimes we do it to ourselves, many people are afraid of being happy and do avoid it on a subconscious level because it easier and requires less work. Don't let this person be you. Make the effort to change yourself, thinking happy is a challenging thing, but it easier than most people think, it just takes some discipline. If your a negative thinker the glass is half empty person, then this will be harder and more beneficial for you.

Our mood determines a lot of what see and hear. If you have sour mood its like putting on unhappy glasses and then your mind will interpret things in a darker light, or you can have a happy mood and wear those happy glasses and see things in much brighter and better light.

Thinking happy starts by trying to view the positive side of everything, instead of 'today was bad because I was so busy,' think 'today was great because I got a lot done.' 'That drive almost cut me off', or 'I am glad I didn't get hit.' The way we view things will help us choose what glasses we put on, and slowly overtime we will start to naturally view things in that brighter light if we are trying too.

The next thing we need to do is nic-the-negative. When we get negative thoughts in our head try to turn it around and make it positive or simply think of something else that is positive. Another important thing is to stay away from negative stimuli, like the news for example.

I also recommend start mentally conditioning your mind to be positive by using a daily affirmations like, “I am happy!” or “Today is going to be a great day!” Click to read more about Affirmations in our Helping Tools section.
